**Alva Public Library Plant Swap & Propagation Day!**
Have a plant you love and want to share? Want to start a new one? Join us for a one-day community Plant Swap & Cutting Event at the library!
Here’s what we’ll have available:
Straight Plant Swaps
Bring a healthy rooted plant or cutting and trade it for something new.
Cuttings Station
Bring a plant from home and take a fresh cutting (or start one on-site using our water cups!). We'll have scissors, labels, and help available.
Succulent Cuttings
We’ll have a small selection of succulents perfect for leaf or stem cuttings to take home and start.
Starter Pots To-Go
Need a container? Grab one of our small nursery pots to take home or use for your new plant baby.
Water Cups for Starting Cuttings
Want to root something for the next swap? Take a cup and get started!
Everything is free, community-driven, and beginner-friendly. Just bring healthy, pest-free plants or cuttings and join the fun!

Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent or just starting out, this is a great way to grow your collection and connect with fellow plant lovers in our community.
You must have a library card to check out items.
Library cards with borrowing privileges and or Internet access privileges are available to the residents of Alva and Woods County free of charge. No registration fee will be charged for those individuals that attend school, live, work or own property in Woods County.
Any person who does not qualify for a library card can apply for a nonresident library card for a fee of $5.00 per household and entitles any member of the family to borrowing privileges for twelve months.
Applicants wanting a library card must apply in person. Cards will be issued to children after they reach the age of six or are attending school. Applicants under the age of sixteen must have a parent or guardian sign the request for borrowing privileges acknowledging responsibility for library materials checked out by the child.
